Sermon – “Shadow of the Lamb” – Garner Ted Armstrong Sermon, March 30, 1996

The Lord’s Supper was instituted by Jesus Christ on the night in which he was betrayed. Jesus Christ, over and over again, is referred to as the Lamb of God.

Going back to the time of the Exodus the Israelites were to sacrifice a lamb (the day was 14 Nisan in the afternoon) and daub the blood over the door posts and window lintels so that the Death Angel who passed over Egypt at midnight on Nisan 15 would ‘pass over’ the homes of the Israelites and would not kill the first born of Israelite families, as he did to the Egyptians.

It was the spilt blood of the lambs that saved the Israelites. A shadow of the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, whose shed blood upon repentance washes away our sins and saves us from death, eternal death. The sacrificed lambs were a shadow, Jesus Christ is the reality.

Garner Ted Armstrong delivers a sermon worthy of close attention.
