The Apostle Peter on the first day of Pentecost after Christ’s death, resurrection and ascension into heaven to sit at His Father’s right hand said:
Acts 3: 19-21:
19 “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
20 “And He shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
21 “Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.”
Indeed the Old Testament is full of the prophecies not only of Christ’s first coming but of His Second Coming and as Zechariah, for example, plainly states, (Zech. 14:4) “And His feet shall stand in that upon the Mount of Olives… ,and the Mount shall cleave in two…”. Then what? Christ returns to establish His Kingdom on Earth. What does He find, how ill He deal with the appalling destruction that has caused Him to return just in time – (Matt. 24:22) “And except those days be shortened, there should be no flesh saved (alive):”
This sermon by Garner Ted Armstrong traverses and expounds just what is meant by the restitution of all things. Jesus Christ will perform it when He returns to rule the earth with a rod of iron and great love and kindness. The promise to those who are called out of this world now and accept Christ (and that means much more than the world’s churches teach), is that they will have a part with Christ in that restoration and rebuilding of the earth and a godly society.
