All religions have their “holy” places and their “holy” times of the year. Jerusalem figures in three of the world’s religions as a “Holy Place” or at least various sites within it’s bounds. To Jews and Christians Israel is the “Holy Land” and Jerusalem the “Holy City”.
What does it say about God’s view of Jerusalem though when it is described by Him as “Sodom and Egypt” (Rev. 11). It’s a fascinating subject as what makes a place or a time “holy”.
