Sermon – “Christ Our Passover” – Garner Ted Armstrong Sermon, 1999

The Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthian Church:

1 Corinthians 5:7-8 (KJV)
“7Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 8Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.”

Yes, the Apostle Paul likened Jesus Christ and the sacrifice of His life and the shedding of His blood, in order to save our life, to that of the sacrificial Passover lamb going back to the first Passover when God ordered the Israelites to kill unblemished lambs and daub the door posts and window lintels of their homes with the blood of the killed lambs so that the death angel would “pass over” them and not take their first born, as he did to the Egyptians.

In this sermon, or Bible study if you prefer, Garner Ted Armstrong meticulously goes over all of the evidence that Jesus Christ is Who He said He was, that He did come to act as the atoning sacrifice for the sins of all mankind – that He was our Passover (lamb) as Paul plainly states.

This is a study that any, and all, nominally professing Christians need to hear and understand. Christ’s death (and resurrection), (and note we are saved by his death), has nothing to with Easter, Ishtar, Astarte, easter bunnies, easter eggs coloured or chocolate. His death has to do with our prospects for (eternal) life.

So if you are unfamiliar with the Truth of God concerning the real Jesus Christ, His sacrifice and all the types and prophecies fulfilled by His death, the timing and manner of His death you need to carefully listen to this study. And if you know it all or think you know it all, listen again. There are some things you may have missed.
