Sermon – “Are Christians Like the Taliban?” – Garner Ted Armstrong Sermon, January 5, 2002

This sermon has so many points to it that are absolutely topical today, perhaps even more so than when the sermon was preached, that it is pitiful. Pitiful that so much of what was going on in the world in 2002 that was bad news continues more than 10 years later in spades – socially, politically – every which way. The political comment alone would have been entirely apt for a recent US presidential election.

But real Christians like the Taliban? Look at the dogged determination of the Taliban in Afghanistan 10 years on. Still there, still standing. And when the coalition forces leaves in 2014? We know the answer surely.

Should real Christians have that same dogged mentality as the Taliban- the stick to it despite all the slings and arrows mentality? Who will stand with Christ at His coming except those who endure to the end – whatever that end may be for individuals?
