Sermon – “While He May Be Found” – Garner Ted Armstrong Sermon, August 19, 2000

This is a splendid campaign “Personal Appearance” in the Dallas/Fort Worth area in August 2000. The theme of the delivery, as evidenced by the title, is that for those being called out by God now, as always (and it is a calling out – not a personally generated idea of giving your heart to the Lord), there is a task associated with the calling. That task is the putting the shoulder to the wheel for the support of the preaching of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God – as a witness and a warning to the world at large, to one’s country, state and county or city.

Of those who hear the warning God may call some, may open their otherwise closed minds,(Rom. 11:8 – “According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear”), may draw them to Christ, for as Christ said:

John 6:44
“No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.”

As Garner Ted jests in part toward the end of the sermon, he comes pretty close to an alter call – but just pretty close. There is of course much more in here than alluded to in this summary, as there almost always is. More than a few need a jolt into action. This may provide it.
