Sermon – “Religious Vanity” – Garner Ted Armstrong Sermon – 1985

Do the nominal Christian churches understand what sin is?

In this 1985 sermon Garner Ted Armstrong demonstrates they do not, not then and probably not now.

The Bible definition is plain. 1 John 3:4 “4Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law”. Which law would that be? Christ made plain it was the Law of God, the Ten Commandments raised by Him to spiritual plain, covering every thought, word and deed. That’s a little different from the wishy washy notions of this world’s religions.

Mr. Armstrong looks at what these churches falsely teach and traverses the whole topic of what is required of those called of God to enter the Kingdom of God, to be entrusted with the power that God is offering to those who attain salvation. He won’t entrust that power to one He cannot trust, one who has not proven to be faithful in keeping God’s holy and righteous Law.
