Sermon – “Deliverers or Conquerers?” – Garner Ted Armstrong Sermon, March 29, 2003

In early 2003 the US invaded Iraq looking for weapons of mass destruction, remove from power Saddam Hussein and liberate the Iraqi people from Saddam’s dictatorship, replacing dictatorship with democracy.

At the time there was a real question in many minds as to the motives of the United States. Ten years on those motives are plain. After a long period of stabilisation, thousands of coalition forces deaths, a kind of democracy was established in Iraq and the “conquering” forces, those who delivered Iraq from tyranny withdrew.

This sermon provides some interesting historical and Biblical insights.
