Sermon – “American Freedom” – Garner Ted Armstrong Sermon

This is a 4th of July sermon and it is about “American Freedom”. Many would question these few years after the sermon was delivered just how “free” America is today and question the direction “freedom” is taking there, and for that matter in many other parts of the western world. With a deluge of new “anti” this and that laws and regulations and various opinions proscribed from being expressed – freedom of movement, freedom of expression, freedom of speech are looking more tenuous by the day.

But this sermon from the outset asks the question why God would have begun His end time work of witness and warning in the United States of America? Why not Britain, France – South America? The freedom that allowed God’s work to grow and flourish and continue from the 1930’s onwards to now 2020 (despite human failing), is waning. And God does say that in the end times there will be a famine of the word. Jesus Christ said of His own work, “4I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.(John 9:4) The night will eventually fall on God’s church also and smother it’s ability to preach the Gospel. Like Christ, the Church must do the work of Him that commissioned the Church while it is day.
