Be aware that a site calling itself icg.org.au has no affiliation
with us or with the parent organisations in Tyler, Texas. Apart
from this icg.org.au site carrying Garner Ted Armstrong audio
sermon material there is nothing else worthwhile on the site as it
in fact preaches against a number of the doctrines taught by
GTA and the Church of God, contains a turgid mish-mash of
unreadable text, ancient and modern of dubious worth, and
misleadingly carries the name “Intercontinental Church of God”.
Those operating that site are disaffected former members of the
organisation founded by Garner Ted Armstrong and originally
registered the name “Intercontinental Church of God” as a
business name in NSW without the knowledge or imprimatur of
Garner Ted Armstrong or the Board of the parent church
organisation. On the face of verbiage appearing on that site it is
evidently a kind of ‘fan’ club dedicated to publishing all things
audio of GTA but in our opinion a ‘fan’ club of malevolent deception
toward the Truth of God and the biblical teachings of the Church of
God organisation founded by Garner Ted Armstrong. They have
purloined the name ‘Intercontinental Church of God’ in Australia,
which in itself is deceptive and falsely represents that
they have an official connection with Garner Ted Armstrong and the
organisations he founded.

They do not.

Perhaps the most egregious misrepresentation (and blatant lie
with no basis in law – among the many lies and false claims made on their
site in respect of their history) of those behind icg.org.au is
the express and implied claim that they hold the copyright to all
Garner Ted Armstrong audio/video materials available on their website.
Mr Armstrong’s natural offspring, all of whom work in the organisations he
founded in Tyler Texas, USA, would be surprised to know that non-descript
individuals located in Australia with no familial or legal association
with Garner Ted Armstrong have falsely taken to themselves, both expressly and impliedly,
the status of legal heirs of GTA, with a claimed legal (copy) right to the
materials Mr Armstrong produced. This is an outrageous and ludicrous claim,
more so because throughout his career Mr. Armstrong made his sermon materials
freely available to all – while retaining author’s copyright himself.

GTAEA-Australia and Intercontinental Church of God (Australia)
believe it incumbent upon us to draw to the public’s
attention impostors to the legacy of Garner Ted Armstrong,
those who misrepresent themselves as having a status as a
‘church’ (but who originally registered a business name)
with some implied association with the Official church
and evangelistic organisations founded by GTA and/or bearing
his name and recommend the public steer clear of icg.org.au
other than to access and download the audio/video materials available
on that site – much of which is available on this official GTA site
and with much more to come.
